for a coffee shop on the main drag in hendersonville, black bear coffee co. it is popular with both locals and travelers.

it’s easy to see why with that beautiful counter, outdoor and indoor space, and burlap coffee bag ceiling.

this little oasis is perfect for digital nomads and those escaping the bustle of downtown hendersonville (hvl). however, sit outside with your dog to people watch as well.

black bear coffee co. it’s a staple in the hvl community, and they’ve been serving coffee since the 90s.

black bear sources its beans from around the world and offers delicious drink specials with non-dairy milk options.

Along with cute bear merchandise, including mugs and t-shirts, enjoy a light bite. Typically, Black Bear Coffee Co. has breakfast items (sandwiches, bagels, and muffins) and lunch carry-on items such as wraps.

if you’re traveling with kids, get to work! the children’s museum is next door, which is full of fun and interactive exhibits.

2. Appalachian Coffee Company

about 10 minutes from jump off rock and close to one of our favorite lunch restaurants in hendersonville, the book & bee, appalachian coffee company is a must.

Also one of the pet-friendly cafes in hendersonville (laurel park) on this list, appalachian cafe has indoor and outdoor seating covered with umbrellas.

while we go here for cold beers and lattes, they have all your classic coffee drinks, as well as a small selection of local brews.

for pastries and food, enjoy muffins, coffees and scones, with vegan and gluten-free options. if you’re hungry for a lighter meal, order sandwich wraps, avocado toast, or breakfast croissants.

if you’ve ever been to one of our favorite breweries in hendersonville, d9, you know that in the morning you’ll find cafes on Main Street that serve up that caffeine.

At the main street cafe, enjoy traditional coffee drinks (mochas, lattes, and cappuccinos) along with fun specials like a frothy espresso.

the main street cafe also offers hot chocolate, chai and a flight of cold beer. find their full menu (usually a picture) on their facebook page along with event announcements.

Just keep in mind that for hendersonville coffee shops, the main street cafe closes early, usually 1 p.m. m. weekdays and 2 p.m. m. on weekends (but always check the hours on their facebook page).

4. share coffee co. & roastery

sharewell coffee co. & roastery sits on the border of hendersonville and flat rock.

this is a great stop if you’re doing a bibliotour of carl sandburg’s house or apple picking at the sky top orchard.

Hendersonville is famous for its seasonal apple orchards, and sky top is a must-see for those piping hot cider donuts, apple picking, the bamboo grove, and the corn maze .

of course jeter mountain farms and stepp’s hillcrest are great too.

Although it has been around since 2016, Sharewell Coffee’s physical location is newer in town with a large space perfect for digital nomads. find two levels of indoor seating plus outdoor seating upstairs.

Along with specialty drinks and non-dairy milk options, choose from delicious treats, including vegan and gluten-free options. we recently annihilated a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin.

for coffee and beans to take home in hendersonville, sharewell is our first choice.

the asheville freeway is full of deliciousness, and this is where you’ll find the ugly cup, complete with a drive-thru.

it’s a simple setting, which makes this place perfect for a coffee on the run.

our favorite screaming review for the ugly mug (by jason m) compares the ugly mug to a “2010 toyota camry, silver.” honestly, it doesn’t get more descriptive than that.

you’d almost miss art & cafe on calle 5 if you don’t just pass (there’s a big pay lot on calle 5).

in terms of location, art & the cafe is off the beaten path near the main street.

this is probably the most unique coffee shop in hendersonville, especially since you will feel like you are walking into your grandma’s house – carpets, fireplace, small rooms, decor and all.

head to the back of the coffee shop to order your basic coffee drinks and treats. then, hang out in one of two rooms surrounded by understated art.

as others have mentioned in online reviews, we didn’t necessarily or recently have the friendliest service in town, but times are tough too. we got it.

7. Arabella Breakfast & lunch

for coffee in hendersonville, which is also a popular local breakfast, brunch and brunch spot, we had to talk about arabella.

when we don’t mention arabella, the hvl locals come after us, as they should. Just know that Arabella is not technically or solely a “cafeteria”.

arabella breakfast & Brunch is a delicious cafe in a historic building with a small coffee shop serving stellar specialty coffee drinks. we’re counting it, and you’ll see why.

we enjoy arabella for its creative lattes, which come in fun, seasonal, and rotating flavors like s’mores, coconut cream pie, cinnamon bun, buttered pecan, snickerdoodle, lavender, and apple crisp, just to name a few Some.

arabella also offers delicious lattes and espressos. should we mention their craft cocktails, just in case?

if you dine at arabella, for breakfast they serve omelettes, vegan pancakes and Latin-inspired spice dishes. for lunch, tuck into burritos, sandwiches, salads, and soups.

because this is a busy and lively central hvl restaurant, arabella gets crowded and rowdy with the cheerful locals; for digital nomads trying to get work done, this place wouldn’t be ideal.

1898 waverly inn: This is a quaint, historic b&b with a small library and a delicious breakfast. the happy hour was our favorite here, and the hosts are extremely knowledgeable about the area.

the charleston inn – Next door to the waverly inn, this quaint 16-room property is a short drive from downtown hendersonville. Built in 1880, and formerly known as the Claddagh Inn, this building is now on the National Register of Historic Places. children and pets are considered on a case by case basis.

echo mountain inn (laurel park) – echo mountain inn is an 1896 stone bed & breakfast that includes a buffet breakfast, several rooms with fireplaces and a seasonally open pool.

the melange inn – A historic 1920’s mansion in hendersonville, enjoy a romantic getaway just a short drive from downtown hvl. visitors can also reserve the entire house, which can comfortably sleep 18 guests.
