Both lattes and lattes are made from a mixture of espresso and milk. both are rich, creamy and caffeinated.
However, lattes are made with a mixture of equal parts espresso and milk. A latte has a 1:3 ratio, 1 part espresso to 3 parts milk.
Because lattes contain more espresso, they also have more caffeine and are the perfect drink to energize your morning!
milk does it
In addition to the different ratios of espresso to milk, the milk in lattes is scalded rather than steamed or frothed. the latte is also not foamy like a latte.
steamed milk
Steamed milk is produced when milk is heated through a steam wand or espresso machine to create a foamy version of milk that doesn’t have as much foam. steamed milk, unlike frothed milk, should be served hot.
Steamed milk can be used in all kinds of coffee drinks, but it works best for pour over lattes. Plus, all milk, including non-dairy plant-based alternatives, can be easily steamed.

All frothed milk is steamed milk if we’re getting technical about it. You can create foamy milk quite easily by heating the milk and stirring or using a frothing stick so the added air creates thick bubbles.
Frothed milk can be served hot or cold and is commonly used in coffee drinks such as lattes, americanos, cappuccinos, and macchiatos. however, the foam works best with cow’s milk.
scalded milk
To create scalded milk, heat it to just below its boiling point, either with a steam wand or on the stove. the combination of scalded milk and espresso creates a rich, sweet and creamy drink without foam.
