- wash removable parts according to care and cleaning instructions.
- Pour fresh cold water up to the 12-cup level mark on the water reservoir.
- Place the basket-type paper filter in the removable filter basket. place the basket in the filter basket holder.
- plug the cord into a standard outlet.
- brew water through the appliance without adding ground coffee. this removes any dust or debris that may be left in the system during the manufacturing process.
- Discard the water from the pitcher and the paper filter from the filter basket.
- turn off the device; unplug and let it cool down.
- Plug the appliance into a standard outlet.
- The digital clock display flashes at 12:00.
- to change the time: press the time button until the correct time appears on the screen. when noon passes, “pm” lights up to alert you that it is the afternoon hour. if the “pm” is not lit, it’s morning time.
- press the min button to select the minutes.
- open cover.
- Fill the water reservoir using the jug with the desired amount of cold tap water. do not exceed the 12 cup (maximum) level in the water reservoir.
- insert the removable filter basket into the filter basket holder.
- place an 8-12 cup basket-style paper filter in the removable filter basket.
- add the desired amount of ground coffee. close the lid.
- make sure the jar lid is placed correctly on the empty jar. close the lid.
- Place the empty pitcher on the pitcher plate.
- plug the power cord into an outlet.
- if regular brewing is desired, the coffeemaker is set to brew coffee.
- if you want a strong coffee, press the brew strength button to select the strong brew. the word strong is displayed.
- press the on/off button and brewing will begin.
- When the coffee stops flowing into the carafe, the brew cycle is complete.
- The brewer beeps when the brew cycle is complete. the time elapsed since preparation will be visible at the bottom of the digital display.
- Once the coffee grounds have cooled down, carefully open the lid and dispose of the used grounds. close the lid.
- The coffee maker will keep the brewed coffee hot for 2 hours and then it will turn off automatically.
- To turn off the coffee maker at any time, press the on/off button. the on/off light turns off. unplug the appliance when not in use.
- make sure the unit is unplugged and has cooled down.
- open the lid.
- To remove the filter basket, grasp the handle and lift it up. Discard the paper filter, if used, and the coffee grounds.
- wash the filter basket, carafe, and carafe lid in the dishwasher, on the top rack, or hand wash in hot, soapy water.
- Wipe the outer surface of the appliance, the control panel and the jug plate with a soft, damp cloth. do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. never immerse the coffee maker in water.
- To clean the inside of the lid, open the lid and leave it in the open position.
- clean surfaces with a damp cloth.
- Combine 6 cups of white vinegar and 4 cups of cold water in the pitcher.
- pour into the water tank.
- place an 8-12 cup basket-style paper filter in the removable filter basket.
- insert the filter basket into the filter basket holder and close the lid.
- make sure the carafe lid is in place and place the empty carafe on the “keep warm” carafe plate.
- plug the power cord into an outlet.
- press auto clean to activate the cleaning cycle; the word clean is displayed and the power light is on.
- some of the mixture will seep through. the remaining mixture will remain in the coffeemaker for 30 minutes before completing its preparation.
