counter height tables & feces
although exact measurements vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, a table with a top height between 34″ and 39″ is considered counter height. these tables are generally meant to correspond with the average height of a kitchen or reception counter.
counter height tables are often used as an additional prep surface in or around the kitchen or to provide a less formal setting for people to gather. People typically are more comfortable socializing around a counter-height table than a standard-height table, as there’s less of a clear difference in height between people who might be sitting and standing.

As with counter-height tables, there is no exact height or height range that manufacturers agree on. however, most manufacturers have set their bar height charts to have a surface height that is within the range of 41″ to 46″.
Bar height tables are so named because they are most often found in bars and restaurants. are used to encourage casual conversation as the height of the stools corresponding to the height of the bar (30″ to 36″ high seats) causes those seated to remain very close to level of the eyes with which they stand. however, it should be noted that some people find it uncomfortable to sit on a chair/stool that keeps their feet this high above ground level.
high coffee tables & feces
the discussion of what constitutes a coffee-height surface or seat is even less defined than the surrounding counter and bar heights, as “coffee-height” is often used as a colloquial synonym for any of the other two table sizes.
Although cafeteria height is sometimes used synonymously with two other heights, our research has shown that the most commonly preferred definition for cafeteria height is that it has a surface height of 34″ at 39″ or identical to counter height tables.
