With your doctor’s approval, take a coffee enema 2-3 times a week for the first 3 months of your program. thereafter take a coffee enema as needed, if/when you feel toxic or experience problems with elimination. when you don’t need them anymore, you won’t feel better or worse after the coffee enema, that is, you will feel the same.

Coffee enemas are believed to be useful in aiding the liver in its detoxification processes, as well as aiding the colon in its elimination activities. Efficient removal of metabolic waste and toxins through the colon is vital for health maintenance and disease prevention.

The coffee enema can be performed at any time you see fit. it usually takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the person. it’s best to choose a time when you won’t feel rushed or disturbed. most people prefer the morning, as taking the enema at the end of the day can disrupt sleep. others find that their sleep is not affected at all and prefer a coffee enema at night. there is no “best” time and it is a matter of personal preference.

• coffee: must be organically grown. never use instant or decaf coffees, they are processed and loaded with chemicals.

• enema bag: any type of enema bag is acceptable, however, most find that the type designed to be a combination enema/douche bag is preferable to the combination enema/douche/water bag hot.

• colon tube: a 30-inch tube, size 22fr or 28fr, is required. This 2-inch enema nozzle that usually comes with an enema bag is insufficient for a tall enema. these are usually available at a pharmacy or hospital.

• Lubricant: A lubricant is required for colonic tube insertion. any natural lubricant is fine – we recommend coconut oil or olive oil.

Coffee should be prepared with glass, stainless steel or enamel cookware, but never aluminum or Teflon. you can use an electric percolator or just use a saucepan. fill the saucepan with a liter of pure water. Bring the water to a boil and immediately turn off the heat. add desired amount of ground coffee and let stand until cool to desired temperature. strain the grounds and use.

Use 1 to 4 tablespoons of coffee per liter of water. the exact amount you use regularly depends on your biochemical individuality.

always use distilled water or water purified by reverse osmosis. tap water is unacceptable for drinking and enemas in a healthy lifestyle.

At the end of the enema, you should feel a sense of calm and well-being. if you experience nervousness, light-headedness, nervous weakness, etc., you should lower the concentration of the coffee solution. ask your doctor if you have any questions about this.

if you have regular bowel movements, the enema should preferably be done after the bowel movement and not before. however, when you do coffee enemas regularly, you may not build up enough volume to continue having regular movements. If this is the case, you should not strain to have a normal bowel movement, as this can lead to hemorrhoids. the enemas will be enough to sufficiently evacuate the bowel and normal function will return when you stop the coffee enemas.

  1. provide an area on the bathroom floor to infuse the coffee solution. most people place an old towel on a folded rug or blanket on the bathroom floor. coffee is brewed in a supine position, so most people make the floor as comfortable as possible. Prop some pillows against the wall and comfortably use the time to read or relax.

  2. find a place to hang the enema bag. It should be no more than 2 feet off the ground (assuming you lie flat on the ground). if the bag is too high, the solution will flow with too much force, causing discomfort. hang it in a suitable place.

  3. attach the colon tube to the plastic nipple at the end of the tube that connects to the enema bag.

Close the hose to the colon tube with the provided hose clamp to prevent any fluid from escaping.

  5. add the coffee solution to the enema bag. this should be at room temperature or just slightly warmer at the time of use. too hot or too cold can cause the colon to contract, making it difficult to retain fluid.

  6. Open the flow control clamp and let a little coffee flow down the end of the tube and into the sink, toilet or bathtub, just enough to remove air from the tube.

  7. lubricate the first few centimeters of the colon tube. Additional lubrication may be applied to the rectum to aid in colonic tube insertion.

  8. insert the colon tube into the rectum. most people prefer to accomplish this while lying on their left side. ideally, the tube should be fully inserted. Everyone’s colon is slightly different and twists and turns in unique ways. for some, it is a simple matter to fully insert the tube. for others, it requires patient and gentle effort. allowing slow entry of solution while inserting the tube is often helpful. additionally, many find that twisting and turning the tube while gently pushing it makes it easier to move forward. others suggest that slightly withdrawing the tube momentarily and then continuing its insertion can help get around tricky corners: the various twists and turns in the colon. under no circumstances should force be used. all this should be very easy and smooth. many people simply cannot fully insert the tube. that’s fine. you should insert the tube as far as your colon easily allows. it is usually necessary to experience several enemas before you feel comfortable with the procedure and develop your own individualized technique.

  9. open the clamp to allow the coffee solution (1 quart) to flow into the colon. the flow rate can be regulated with the control apparatus. when the flow is complete, you can remove the tube or leave it inserted. many prefer to leave the tube inserted as it allows any gas present to escape.

  10. lie on your left side for 5 minutes, on your back for 5 minutes, and on your right side for 5 minutes. During this time, gently massage the colon, concentrating on hard, lumpy areas.

  11. After 15 minutes, you can expel the enema. you should not strain to retain the liquid. if you feel like you need to expel before 15 minutes, you should. no effort is required and the whole process should be effortless.
