Delah is also one of the few coffee shops in the city that closes at 10 p.m. m. most nights, so you can post to this soma spot and go into focused mode for hours.

They also have strong internet but make sure you come with your tech fully charged, there aren’t many outlets.

place castro has just about everything you need for a full day of work: plenty of comfy couches, group tables with ample room for laptops to take advantage of wifi, and some of the best coffee around. I just know that there is only one socket here. They also have the requisite avocado toast and sandwiches.

San Francisco State students are usually allowed to take a seat, especially during finals, and if that’s the case, be prepared to share a table and befriend a complete stranger. their richmond outpost also has excellent wifi and plenty of seating.

müesi cafe looks like a juice bar or ice cream yogurt chain, and one where you’ll want to spend hours reading excel spreadsheets. this cow hollow coffee gets the job done. They have fast internet, great espresso drinks and customizable muesli bowls, plus plenty of tables and seating. They also open later than many other coffee shops: they close at 5:30 p.m. m. weekdays and at 6:00 p.m. m. on weekends.

Mercury is one of the most relaxing places to work, but charge your laptop beforehand – there aren’t many outlets (nothing like impending 8% battery stress to reduce productivity).

They also have some pretty amazing cakes in rotation (and gluten-free stuff if that’s your game), not to mention the huge, delicious salads. Add a good number of outlets to the equation and it’s obvious why this is one of our favorites.

Skip the breakfast menu and order the large house salad: mixed greens, apple slices, fennel, walnuts, and cheese. then proceed to look at the dogs instead of looking at the slack. Beware though: if the dogs distract you and your laptop dies, there are no plugs to save you. Indoor and outdoor seating is available.

nothing fancy, but a decent place to read, write and overthink some emails for your co-workers. the mission cafe has sizable indoor space, a back patio for when the weather is nice, a full menu, and beverages ranging from coffee (of course) to beer and wine.

This outdoor sunset cafe is just steps from ocean beach, which is just one of the reasons we love it here. the other is java beach cafe’s variety of great breakfast and lunch options, from salads and bagel sandwiches to sandwiches and wraps, the perfect meal to recharge to catch up on work at the communal table or on the front patio . the only drawback is that things can get busy and noisy, and outlets are limited.

mazarine has some of the prettiest avocado toast, plus delicious espressos and a super large space to work. Also really important is the fact that this Financial District spot on Market Street has an almost ridiculous number of outlets. just bring your internet with you (there’s no wifi here), or work on something you don’t need your browser for.

the bernal heights coffee shop is the place we go when we are in it for a long time. They have it all: a large outdoor patio, plenty of tables inside, and free Wi-Fi. There are also plenty of food and drink options: wraps, sandwiches, salads, and beer, coffee, and wine. Basically, if you need a place to camp, this is it.
